DIGITAL WAVEFORM is a User Oscillator for uploading to a Korg Minilogue XD, Prologue or NTS-1 MKI synthesiser. It attempts to recreate the sounds and capabilities of the legendary DW-8000 hybrid poly synth released by Korg in 1985.

This digital download product includes the user oscillator plus THIRTY NINE presets specifically designed for the user oscillator. These presets will only work on a Minilogue XD synthesiser.

For an overview of DIGITAL WAVEFORM and to hear some of the presets in action please see this video:

And for some patching ideas on using these waveforms to recreate real-world instruments and sounds, check out this video:

Pre-requisites for installing this User Oscillator are (i) the Korg MIDI USB driver for your computer, and (ii) the Korg Sound Librarian for your synth. You will need a compatible Mac or PC to connect to your synth. Please refer to the relevant “Librarian and Contents” section of the Korg website for more details and download links.

As a special thank you for all your support I would like to offer both DIGITAL WAVEFORM and VECTOR SYNTHESIS as a discounted bundle here:

Or if you would like to purchase DIGITAL WAVEFORM on its own, the link is below:

  1. Love the user oscillators and XD patches – it appears that patch DW38 is an INT patch – should it be a sound using the DW user oscillator?

    1. Great to hear you like it. Yes, my bad, one of the patches is empty, I only realised after publishing the files. So there are 38 patches in total, not 39.

  2. Ha! Almost sent you a message about the NTS-1. Got it a while back but I hadn’t realized that the Program Edit menu was activated by turning the “TYPE” knob while pressing “OSC”. Without that, I only had A&B for the mix between the two oscillators (and they were set to the same shape, so it didn’t make a difference) and the white noise. Controlling the wave shapes through that Program Edit menu makes a big difference! 😉

Had some other User Oscillators but I was only using them with the A&B knobs. Using the Program Edit menu also helps with those. So, I basically extended my NTS-1’s usefulness!
Wonder if it there’s any way to control these menu items through MIDI/sysex. That could be neat!

Thanks for the oscillators. They do sound pretty good, even on a monophonic synth.
