Erica Synths Syntrx

Here are my initial thoughts on the Syntrx analogue synthesiser from Erica Synths. Unfortunately I won’t have very much time to get to know this synth this time around, but here is a glimpse at some of its features plus some opinions I was able to form in the five or so hours I played and programmed it. Despite the lack of detail, I hope the video will be useful.

The Syntrx really is a dichotomy for me, on the one hand it is a beautiful and unique instrument and is capable of sounding incredible. But on the other hand I can’t help but feel it has numerous limitations and on a couple of occasions is even slightly flawed. These negatives might be easier to swallow if it sold for half the price but otherwise those negatives weigh heavily with such a high price tag. I wonder to what degree Erica Synths may be able to palpably improve this synth in firmware, if of course they are inclined to do so…
